Welcome to the 41^st Annual Palisade Peach Festival

 

 

August 13-16, 2009

 

You’re invited to experience the 41 st Annual Palisade Peach Festival. New activities include the Union Pacific’s Miniature Historic Parade Train, Alpaca Showcase, and events in downtown Palisade. We’ve expanded our agritours in size and schedule, Feast in the Fields, and the Peach Fest 5-Miler. Please refer to the articles within this publication for more information.

 

Festivities begin Thursday, August 13th with Palisade’s agritours and the Ice Cream Social & Street Dance. The Ice Cream Social includes the “passing of the torch” between the outgoing and incoming Town Grouch, coronation of the 2009 Peach Queen, and the debut of the Union Pacific’s Miniature Historic Parade Train. And of course, you’ll enjoy free ice cream and Palisade peaches, and dancing to the sounds of Swing City Express.

 

Friday and Saturday are highlighted by the Peach Festival at Riverbend Park. Arrive early and receive a free peach. Activities include vendors, kids’ rides, Peach Cuisine with Colorado Chefs, Peach Eating Contest, and some of the best musical entertainment in the Grand Valley. You’ll find the new Alpaca Showcase right across the parking lot.

 

Be sure to take-in our other weekend activities: The Lions Club Pancake, Peach Fest 5-Miler, Peach Festival Parade, Just 4-Fun Car Show, Palisade Library Book Sale, downtown Palisade events (Friday and Saturday nights), and the Palisade Sunday Farmers Market. August 1st through August 16 th, some of the finest independently-owned restaurants in the Grand Valley are paired with Palisade peach growers to feature peach cuisine on their menus. Look for their special Peach Festival Medallion poster, showcasing the restaurant and related peach grower.

 

While you’re at the festival, take time to explore the Palisade area. Visit Palisade’s great shops, artists, fruit stands and orchards, wineries, and restaurants. Palisade also has some great bed & breakfasts and lodging.

The Palisade Peach Festival is one of Western Colorado’s premier events. You’ll find that in Palisade, “Life really does taste good here.”
